Neighbouring owner describes giving CPR

The owner of The Waterworks, a theme park and tourist attraction on the remote road, told 1News "several people had been shot" and one had been pronounced dead.

He said about 120 schoolchildren were in the process of leaving the park when the shooting took place, and that he had been serving ice cream when the incident began.

"A guy ran in and said that he'd heard some gunshots, and I immediately just stopped what I was doing, grabbed my first aid kit, and then hightailed it to the back of the property - which is about 150 metres just up the road," he said.

He helped give CPR to a person who had been shot.

"I had a pulse for the first five minutes. And then we continued to provide CPR - there's myself and another guy," he said.
