The Indian Women's Cricket team enjoyed a record-breaking evening at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday (December 24) as they thrashed West Indies by 115 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with one match left, which will take place at the same venue on Friday (December 27).
Talking about the match, India posted a huge total of 358 on the board after Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bowl first. Harleen Doel scored her maiden international century while Smriti Mandhana, Pratika Rawal, and Jemimah Rodrigues scored half-centuries.
In reply, Hayley Matthews became the first female West Indies player in history to score a century against India in ODIs but failed to find support from her teammates as the visitors were bowled out for just 243. Priya Mishra took three wickets while Rawal, Titas Sadhu, and Deepti Sharma took two wickets each. Renuka Singh also got one dismissal to her name.

Indian Women's Cricket Team Create History

The total of 358 was India's joint-highest total in women's ODI cricket history, matching the same score against Ireland at Potchefstroom in 2017. This also marked the first instance of India crossing the 350-run mark in an ODI match at home.

This also is the highest total by any team in Women's ODI history against West Indies. No team in history had ever managed to cross the 350 mark against the Windies before. Three of the four highest scores against West Indies in the 50-over format have come against India, including two in this series.
