Irfan Pathan Recreates Rohit Sharma's Iconic T20 World Cup Walk After Winning Big Cricket League (Source: AP/X)

Irfan Pathan recreated Rohit Sharma's iconic T20 World Cup walk after winning the Big Cricket League. Led by Pathan, Mumbai Marines clinched the title after beating Southern Spartans by seven wickets. The Spartans posted a strong total of 210-6 in 20 overs, courtesy of 78 by Phil Mustard and 51 by Suresh Raina, however, it was not enough for a win as 89 by Manan Sharma and 75 by Jesal Karia took Mumbai over the line.
During the trophy distribution, Irfan Pathan recreated Rohit Sharma's slow walk. Rohit broke India's long hiatus for an ICC Trophy and led the team to a win after beating South Africa in the final.
The walk first grabbed the limelight after Lionel Messi performed it following Argentina's over France in the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar in 2022. Recently West Indies' Hayley Matthews also recreated it after leading Barbados Royals to a win over Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL.

Rohit Eyes Return To Form

The phase after the T20 World Cup win wasn't a great one for the Indian captain as he suffered a defeat against New Zealand at home. More so, Rohit failed to live up to the expectations with the bat. The Indian captain is currently in Australia, however, he hasn't been able to get over the lean patch in two Tests he has played on the tour.
The fourth Test will be played in Melbourne and Rohit would be desperate to return to form. Along with Rohit, the likes of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have also failed to fare well. KL Rahul is the only batter who has shown some resistance to the Australian pacers, however, he hasn't got any support. The series is currently tied at 1-1, with the third Test at the GABBA ending as a draw. The winner of the fourth Test will ensure at least a draw in the series.
