It will be a crucial win for India as a whitewash can result in them qualifying for a third straight WTC final. One of the most crucial players for the team will be young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. He will be coming into the series in great form, having become the highest run-getter in the recently concluded Test Series vs Bangladesh, with 189 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Needs 283 Runs Vs New Zealand To Become First Indian To Achieve MASSIVE Feat

Yashasvi Jaiswal not has 1217 runs in the World Test Championship (2023-25) cycle. If he scores 283 runs across the three games against New Zealand, he will have 1500 runs in the cycle. He will thus become the first Indian batter to score 1500 runs in a single WTC cycle.
With his 71-run knock in the first game against Bangladesh, Jaiswal overtook Ajinkya Rahane to become the Indian with the most number of runs in a single edition of the WTC. Rahane had scored 1159 runs in the 2019-21 cycle. He then went on to score two half-centuries in the second match against the Bangla Tigers.
