'Cannot Send Them To Pakistan': BCCI Issues Another Ultimatum To Pakistan Amid Champions League Conundrum. (Photo-ICC)

The Champions Trophy conundrum has refused to die down. The BCCI already made their intentions clear with the IC that the Indian Cricket Team will not travel to Pakistan due to security concerns.
With each day passing, the future of the Champions League has started to look bleak. The concept of a hybrid model has been mooted with India’s matches proposed to be held in Dubai. But ICC is yet to confirm anything officially raising further questions on Pakistan's credentials as the host.
The schedule of the Champions Trophy is expected to be announced on Monday and ahead of the designated date, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has further confirmed India’s stance on the Champions Trophy.
In an interaction with PTI, he said, “We [BCCI] prefer a hybrid model. But as the ICC chairman is already looking after it and is in talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board, we hope for an amicable solution with both nations [India and Pakistan] agreeing to it without any bitterness.
“The focus is majorly on our players’ safety and hence we cannot send them to Pakistan. We are looking for a middle ground to sort things out.”
It has also been reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board has been offered the chance not to travel to India for the ICC 2026 T20 World Cup. India and Sri Lanka are the joint hosts for this tournament.
India last travelled to Pakistan to take part in the 2008 Asia Cup under MS Dhoni. But Pakistan have participated in ICC tournaments conducted in India with the most recent being the ODI World Cup last year.
India are expected to host three major ICC tournaments in the near future till 2031 and alongside the Women's World Cup in 2025.
