In a heartwarming gesture, ace India batter Virat Kohli was seen congratulating his Australia counterpart Travis Head after the latter scored yet another century on Day 2 of the third Test in Brisbane. He was also seen having a friendly chat with Steve Smith when both the teams walked off for tea even as the Aussie duo smashed the Indian bowlers.
Head notched up his second successive century against India, reaching the milestone in the 69th over of the innings by clipping one off ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah to the leg side.
It was the ninth Test century of Head's career and came on the back of a match-winning 140-run knock in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, which acted as the final nail in India's coffin in the second Test. Watch the video here:
Australia reached a commanding 405/7 at stumps courtesy of a 241-run partnership between Head (152 off 160) and Smith (101 off 190) for the fourth wicket after the visitors put them in a spot of bother at 75/3 in the morning.
Bumrah (5/72), who came up with welcome wickets both in the morning and towards the end of play, was once again the stand-out bowler for the visitors. It was his second five-for of the series and the overall tally stands at 17.
Head's century came after a match-winning 140 in Adelaide while it was a classical Test innings for Smith, who reached three figures for the first time in 25 knocks, silencing his critics.
While reaching their milestones, Smith now is the international batter with joint most Test centuries (10) against India besides Joe Root followed by Sir Vivian Richards and Sir Garfield Sobers (8 each).
Head, since his hundred in the WTC final at the Oval last year has been India's nemesis with another classic hundred in the ODI World Cup final and two more in the current series.
