MS Dhoni to play IPL 2025
MS Dhoni has all but confirmed that he will be part of IPL 2025. Speaking at an event, Dhoni said he wants to enjoy the last few of the cricket he will be able to play. The update came as a big relief for Chennai Super Kings and millions of Dhoni's fans.
"I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I'm able to play. Like how during our childhood we used to go out and play at 4[pm], just enjoying the game. But when you play professional sport it becomes difficult to enjoy the game just like a game. So what I want to do is, there are emotions and commitments, but I want to enjoy the game for the next few years," he said.
Ravindra Jadeja to be CSK's first-choice retention
Cricbuzz has reported that Ravindra Jadeja will be CSK's first-choice retention. He will be followed by Ruturaj Gaikwad. Under the IPL's rules, the first-choice retention gets Rs 18 crore while the second pick will have a salary of Rs 14 crore. But CSK can pay Jadeja and Ruturaj equally. Dhoni can be retained under the uncapped category and he will have a salary of Rs 4 crore.
KL Rahul to be released
Multiple reports have confirmed that KL Rahul will be released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The franchise might not even use the Right to Match card on him. Rahul joined LSG for a huge sum of Rs 17 crore before the IPL 2022 mega-auction. LSG haven't played an IPL final yet.
Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant to be part of mega-auction?
Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant could be reportedly part of the IPL 2025 mega-auction. Shreyas captained Kolkata Knight Riders to a title win in IPL 2024 while Rishabh has been leading Delhi Capitals since IPL 2021. There could be a case that the two captains could leave their respective franchises.
