KL Rahul and Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka had one of the most controversial moments in IPL 2024, when the cameras caught them involved in a heated altercatio on the field after LSG lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad. Rahul was reportedly miffed at this, and was not even retained by LSG even though he captained them for the last three years. Now a few weeks after KL Rahul was picked up by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Sanjiv Goenka has opened up about the incident.

Dil Se Izzat Aur Pyaar Hai: Sanjiv Goenka

In an interaction on the TRS Podcast, Sanjiv Goenka said that the spat was just an expression of a sentiment that he fell. But that did not impact the relationship between him and KL Rahul. He has nothing but respect and love for the former LSG captain.
"There are moments when you have sentiments and there is an expression to that sentiment. But that doesn't impact the relationship. Or shouldn't impact the relationship. Mere dil se toh main itna hi kahunga ke izzat bhi hai aur pyaar bhi hai (I have nothing but respect and love for him)," Goenka said.

Shareef Insaan Hai: Sanjiv Goenka on KL Rahul

Sanjeev Goenka said that KL Rahul has been family for him and wished him the best the best for whatever happens in the future. He also called him an honest person.
"KL Rahul has always been family for me and he will remain that way. He captained Lucknow for three years and have shown great results during his tenure. I genuinely wish for his good, no matter what happens," Goenka said.
Shareef insan hai (He is a good person)," said Goenka while talking about Rahul. "He is a very honest person and I wish that everything good happens to a honest person like him. He is also very talented and I wish he displays his talent to the world. I am very sure he will do well. My best wishes are with him," he added.
