Ahead of the third day of play in the second Test match between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Rishabh Pant appeared in a jovial mood and won the hearts of cricket fans by playing a hilarious prank with Australian cricket great Adam Gilchrist.
While the Indian team was warming up for the day's play and Gilchrist was busy with media duties, Pant walked towards him from back and caught the legendary cricketer by surprise. The 27-year-old blindfolded the Australian great in a rib-tickling clip that has gone viral on social media.

Previously, Pant had revealed that Gilchrist is one of his cricketing idols. In a recent interaction, the Indian star recalled looking up to the three-time World Cup winner as a kid and hailed both his batting and keeping ability.
"Everyone knows. See. I think he has been an inspiration for me. As a kid, I used to watch him a lot, and I am someone who does not like watching cricket a lot. He was someone I used to look up to him for the way he used to take on the field, batting, and wicketkeeping. I used to love everything about him. When I met for the first time in Australia, it was amazing," said Pant on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast
Gilchrist is widely regarded as one of the greatest wicketkeepers to play the sport. He played 96 Tests for Australia and made 5570 runs at an average of 47.60 with 17 centuries. In 287 ODIs, he made 9619 runs at an average of 35.89 with 16 centuries.
Gilchrist is also the only player in history to score a 50+ score in three Cricket World Cup finals with half-centuries in the 1999 and 2003 summit clash against Pakistan and India respectively and a memorable ton against Sri Lanka in 2007.
Talking about the match, Pant was dismissed by Mitchell Starc in the first over of the third day for a knock of 28 as India were bowled out for 175 and lost by 10 wickets.
