Not Just Nitish Kumar Reddy! Sachin Tendulkar Also Praises 25-Year-Old Star For Heroics In Boxing Day Test

Nitish Kumar Reddy stole the show on Day 3 of the 4th Test between India and Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He slammed the Australian bowlers all over the park as he scored his maiden Test century. Hitting one of the most iconic knocks by an Indian on Australian soil, Nitish Reddy received praise from many stalwarts in he cricketing world. He has now received the highest praise from the legendary Sachin Tendulkar as well.
In a post on his X account, Sachin Tendulkar said that it was a knock to remember by Nitish Reddy. He revealed that the 21-year-old all-rounder impressed him right from the first Test at Perth because of his composure and temperament. He also praised Washington Sundar, who slammed a half-century himself and stitched a 127-run stand with Nitish Kumar Reddy for the 8th wicket.
"A knock to remember by Nitish. He has impressed me right from the 1st Test, and his composure and temperament have been on display right through. Today, he took it a notch higher to play a crucial innings in this series. Wonderfully and ably supported by @Sundarwashi5 as well. " Well played,” Tendulkar wrote.

Nitish Reddy Slams Multiple Records

Nitish Kumar Reddy becomes just the second Indian to slam his maiden Test century at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The first Indian to do so was the legendary Vinoo Mankad, who hit a ton way back in 1948. Reddy is also the first player since JP Duminy in 2008 to slam his maiden century at the iconic ground.
At 21 years 141 days, Nitish Reddy also becomes the third youngest player from India to slam a Test Century in Australia. Sachin Tendulkar (18 years 253 days) and Rishabh Pant (21 years 91 days) are the players who are ahead of Reddy in the list.
Nitish Kumar Reddy also becomes the first Indian batter at no.8 to slam a century in Australia. The previous highest individual score by an Indian no.8 batter Down Under was held by Anil Kumble, who scored 87 in 2014.
