Travis Head has made a shocking claim on his on-field moment with Mohammed Siraj on the second day of the Adelaide Test match and revealed what he told the India pacer. Speaking to Fox Cricket after the end of the day's play, Head claimed that he told "well bowled" to Siraj. The left-handed batsman also said that he was "slightly disappointed" with what transpired on the field.
"Nice to get a few runs. Batting has been going nicely for the last few weeks and it was good to get some runs. I took my chances, they bowled well, it was a tough wicket and have put the guys in a good position. I could if we did the right things, both sides came in thinking they could dominate, not saying we are dominating just yet but we are in a great position. With the quality of quicks they have, got to take chances, with the field up I was going to take my chances. Played really well in some moments. A newborn boy a couple of weeks ago, would have copped a bit of stick from the missus had I not done that for Harrison," Head said.
"I said well bowled but he thought otherwise, slightly disappointed with what transpired but it what it is. If that's how they got to represent themselves so be it."
It's Head's side of story and given Australia's history of sledges, the fans will find it hard to believe the Australian side. Siraj dismissed the Australian batsman for 140. He followed with a fiery celebration, instructing the batsman to walk back.
But Head had done his job as he steered Australia to a total of 337 to gain a big lead of 157 runs. The Australian bowlers did the job in the evening session and dismissed 5 Indian batsmen at a score of 128. India still trail by 29 runs and need a miracle to avoid a defeat in Adelaide.
