Meet 19-Year-Old Luke Wasson: Once A Golfer & Soccer Player, Now Making Waves In Pickleball

It's a story of passion and perseverance, which details the story of 19-year-old Luke Wasson as he went onto become a professional pickleball player. It all started with a family trip, which led him to the game for the first time. He was immediately drawn into the sport because of its energetic appeal.
He was on a trip to Tres Palapas Baja Resort in Los Barriles, Mexico and fell for the sport at first sight. Wasson went pro in 2021 and recently signed with the PPA (Professional Pickleball Association) in 2023. The boy from Texas, Dallas played some soccer and semi-pro golf before going pro in one of the world's fastest-growing racquet sports.
Because of the influence from two different sports, the athletic skills that the USA player brought to the pickleball game seemed to reflect a wide range of other skills that transitioned into the game very nicely. His intrinsic ability and passion in the sport spurred him to be a pro in 2021 as he started his career in the game.
Other than the game, Wasson has other hobbies such as cooking and socializing with his friends in his life. With that passion in pickleball and the passion to develop himself puts him ahead of the rest in professional pickleball. With clearly set goals and dedication to the game, Luke Wasson is at a point of creating history in the sport and certainly will strive for the best by climbing step by step.
By 2023, Wasson achieved a major milestone when he became a member of the Professional Pickleball Association, which demonstrates how much he is dedicated to playing at the highest level of competition in the sport. Being a CRBN-sponsored athlete provides him with the support and resources he needs to focus all his efforts on improving his game and achieving his objectives on the court.
He is currently ranked 44th in the world, 66th at the mixed doubles, and mixed doubles at 83rd as of December 2024. So far, he played 24 professional tournaments to this date, playing a total of 62 pro matches throughout his career so far.
