'Someone Will Wear Yellow Jersey': Did Suresh Raina Just Confirm Rishabh Pant To CSK? (Photo: BCCI)

Chennai Super Kings have always been very careful about their team balance and announced their retention list which doesn't have many surprises. Apart from retaining MS Dhoni as an uncapped player, the five time IPL champions also got hold of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Matheesha Pathirana, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja.
Speculations were rife regarding MS Dhoni's future with CSK but the new uncapped player rule by BCCI helped CSK to save a portion of their budget as they will further venture into the IPL 2025 mega auction to build their squad.
CSK have always preferred to retain the core part of their squad and Dhoni has been an integral part of the franchise. But the 43 year old is approaching the twilight period of his career and CSK want to have a smooth transition in the post-Dhoni period.
There have been reports that the IPL giants will target Rishabh Pant in the IPL 2025 auction as the Indian wicketkeeper could fill in Dhoni's vacant shoes once he retires from IPL.
Pant is expected to fetch a huge amount in the auction and now Suresh Raina also indicated that the 27 year old is edging towards a move to the IPL franchise. On JioCinema Rains said, "I met MS Dhoni in Delhi, Pant was also there. Someone will be wearing a yellow jersey soon."
Raina recently posted a picture of him with Dhoni on social media and his recent comments further sparked the speculation over a very unusual Dhoni-Pant reunion. The pair is believed to be very close to each other and Dhoni can convince the CSK management to go after Pant in order to choose his successor after his departure.
CSK will have a purse of 55 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction and they also have a RTM card left.
