India have major changes to their T20I squad for the South Africa series

In between India's crucial red-ball assignments against New Zealand at home and away to Australia, the Suryakumar Yadav-led T20I team will be in action as they travel to South Africa to play four T20Is between 8th and 15th November.
While no player of the Test team is part of the white-ball set-up, there are as many as five changes in the team from the one that played the home series against Bangladesh. Both Riyan Parag and Mayank Yadav have missed out due to fitness issues. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that Mayank has an injury while Riyan was unavailable for selection due to a chronic right shoulder injury.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana are also not part of the squad as they have been picked in the Test squad that will travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
Meanwhile, Axar Patel will travel to the rainbow nation after being left out of the red-ball team for the tour Down Under. Avesh Khan has got a recall to the Men in Blue with the team short on pacers with plenty of first-choice options set to travel to Australia as part of the main squad or among the reserve options.
This has also confirmed a maiden T20I call-ups for pace duo Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal, who both play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Another player, who has been called up to the Indian team for the first time is Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Ramandeep Singh with both Shivam Dube (injured) and Nitish missing out.
