The golden hour of Indian Chess continued as Arjun Erigaisi wrote his name in the history books on Thursday (October 24) as Arjun Erigaisi became the second Indian player in history to achieve the elusive mark of 2800 Elo points mark.
The 21-year-old registered the incredible feat during the European Chess Club Cup 2024. Playing for team Alkaloid, the Indian Grandmaster beat Russia's Dmitry Andreikin in the fifth round. He has also reached the world no. 3 mark in the live rating list.
Erigaisi has joined Viswanathan Anand as the only Indian to achieve the feat. Overall, he is only the 16th player in history from across the globe to reach 2800 Elo Points

Who Is Arjun Erigaisi?
Arjun Erigaisi became one of India's youngest grandmasters after achieving the title at the age of 14 years, 11 months, 13 days. He was the 54th Grandmaster from India and 32nd youngest player in the world to compele the feat.
