PWR DUPR India Masters: Young Pickleball Enthusiasts Spotted During Tournament- WATCH

Pickleball had become popular in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic with numerous adults taking to it as a leisurely activity. Over time, it spread across age groups and numerous children across the world took to the sport as well. It was visible when two very young kids were spotted entering the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association Stadium in New Delhi during the PWR DUPR India Masters.
The event will be the first pickleball tournament in India, a fully owned and operated event by Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) following the successful launch of the PWR World Tour in July 2024 in Dubai, UAE.
The participants include top international players such as Dustin Boyer (United States), Phuc Huynh (United States), Roos Van Reek (Netherlands), Mitch Hargreaves (Australia), Emilia Schmidt (Australia), Pei Chuan Kao (Chinese Taipei), as well as leading Indian players like Armaan Bhatia and Aditya Ruhela.

Pickleball has become popular among children due to the easy nature of the game. The sport not just offers the benefits of physical activity, but encourages strategy and provides mental stimulation as well.
Then there are the social perks of pickleball, kids can play with friends, while it is something they can do with family as well. Introducing youngsters to the sport can strengthen bonds and promote an active lifestyle amongst a generation that is glued to their screens on most occasions and playing an all-inclusive sport.

PWR DUPR India Masters

Players will be competing for a prize pool of USD 50,000, which is over Rs 42 lakhs in Indian currency. The tournament will award players up to 700 ranking points, valid for 52 weeks. The event will feature a thrilling PWR Battle of the Leagues as well, Minor League Pickleball, where teams of two men and as many women will compete across different categories.

The Pickleball PWR DUPR India Masters will be live broadcast on Zoom and Mirror Now in India. The live broadcast will start at 12 noon on 24th October and 25th October and at 3 pm on 26th October and 27th October.
