The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) found itself in hot soup after fans at the MCA stadium in Pune, the venue for the second Test against New Zealand, complained of water crisis. The netizens took to social media to give details of the struggles they faced at the venue. The board was slammed for failing to provide basic facilities like water to the fans despite being the richest board in the world. Fans on social media claimed that vendors are selling water at a whopping price of 80 rs per 100 ml.
Meanwhile, India find themselves on top in the second Test after reducing New Zealand to 232-6 at the time of writing. India removed Tom Latham early but Rachin Ravindra kept on stitching crucial partnerships for the team. New Zealand were in a comfortable position at 197-3 when Rachin Ravindra departed for 65. Ashwin also achieved a significant milestone during the Test as he became the leading wicket-taker of the World Test Championship (WTC). Ashwin leapfrogged Nathan Lyon's tally of 187 wickets to top the charts.

India sit at the top of the WTC table, but the defeat in the first Test against New Zealand jeopardised their chances of reaching the WTC final. India would look to win the following two Tests against New Zealand to boost their hopes of qualifying for the final. However, India would still need to win two Tests in Australia and draw two games to have a chance.
