Manoj Tiwary recently opened up about him being dropped from the Indian Team. The former Indian batter made his debut under MS Dhoni but he could only manage to star in a handful number of games for the Men In Blue before announcing his retirement.
Tiwary waited long and finally scored his first ODI hundred against West Indies back in 2011. But much to the surprise of everyone he wasn’t selected in the next game and had to wait for a prolonged eight months before donning the Indian colours. He ended up playing only 12 ODI matches and didn’t hold back his frustration.
In an interaction with Cricket Addictor, Manoj Tiwary took an indirect dig at MS Dhoni and the selectors for cutting short his India career.
He said, "See, it happened a long time ago. It's a matter of the past, but yes, dukh to hota hi hai (It was sad). I would lie if I said it wasn't saddening. What can we do? It’s life; but it needs to move forward. If I am to write my autobiography or I do a podcast of my own, I will reveal it all. But it wasn't easy. When a player is at his peak, when his confidence is crushed, it causes a change in mindset.”
Tiwary was also a part of the Legends League Cricket and rubbed shoulders with the likes of Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha while playing for the Manipal Tigers in the tournament.
He further added, "Feels great. I have played with most of them at some point on my career. These are legends whom we have seen growing up, so to play with them is a nice feeling. Even some of the players who announced their retirements slightly earlier, I would say, have joined the Legends League, so it's always a warm feeling to reunite with them and playing."
