  • Social media was flooded with memes trolling Team India
  • Fans reminded Team India of RCB's lowest score in IPL
India kicked off the Test series against New Zealand on a horrible note and got bowled out for 46 in their first innings of the Bengaluru Test match. Much was expected from the star-studded batting line-up but the Indian batters struggled against the New Zealand pacers.
Spearheaded by Matt Henry, NZ only took 31.2 overs to bowl out the home team. Henry took a five-fer while William ORourke scalped four wickets. Tim Southee scalped Rohit Sharma's key wicket.
Social media was flooded with memes for Team India and some users reminded the cricketing universe that the Rohit Sharma-led side was bowled out for less than 49, which is the lowest score in IPL's history. For the unversed, RCB hold the record for the lowest total in IPL's history. Check out some hilarious reactions to India's below-par batting -
Interestingly, RCB registered the lowest total in IPL history against Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in IPL 2017. Gambhir is now the head coach of Team India.
5 batsmen out for ducks
As many as five Indian batsmen failed to open their account and departed for ducks. Virat Kohli, who batted at number 3, recorded the first duck of the day. Sarfaraz Khan, who made his return to playing XI, departed for a three-ball duck.
KL Rahul also failed to open his account and consumed six balls. Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin returned to the pavilion without troubling the scorers. India's decision to bat first backfired and the batsmen failed to do the job.
New Zealand have made a solid start and they have only lost one wicket at 108. Devon Conway has breached the 50-run mark and is racing towards his century. Will Young has assisted him well and both batsmen have negated India's spin threat. NZ have never won a Test series in India.
