A lot seems to be happening at the Delhi Capitals, as they are going for a major overhaul to their backroom staff ahead of IPL 2025. A few months ago they parted ways with head coach Ricky Ponting, and now it looks like the next legend in line to leave the franchise is none other than their current Director of Cricket and legendary India captain Souav Ganguly. Venugopal Rao Appointed Delhi Capitals Director Of Cricket
According to a report by Cricbuzz, former India all-rounder and ex-Delhi Capitals star Venugopal Rao has been appointed as the new Director of Cricket of the franchise. Appointing Rao in this position means that either Sourav Ganguly has to step down, or he may be shifted to another position of power inside the franchise.
Rao joins former India batter and ex-teammate of Sourav Ganguly, Hemang Badani, who is set to take over as the head coach of the franchise for the upcoming two IPL seasons according to the report.
Both Rao and Badani have been involved with Delhi Capitals' sister franchises in the ILT20 (Dubai Capitals) and the MLC (Seattle Orcas).
