'Last Time We See Kohli On Australian Soil': Former Aussie Cricketer Sounds Virat's Swansong Down Under

Former Australia cricketer Mark Waugh has said that it feels like Scott Boland has got a spell on Virat Kohli and is mesmerising him, making him fall into the same trap again and again. The stage was set for the Indian batter to put up a good and big score in India's final innings of this tour of Australia and take his team to a massive second innings score, but he failed again.
Dating back to the World Test Championship final at the Oval two years back, when Boland bagged an edge that flew to Steve Smith in the slips to deny Kohli a fifty, he had made the latter his bunny by tempting him time and again outside the off-stump.
Kohli's knock lasted only 12 deliveries before he was drawn in again, falling for just six runs when edging Boland to Smith to his immense frustration and the surprise of Waugh in the commentary box.
“It is almost like he has got a spell on him. He is mesmerising him. He is mesmerising that bat to follow the ball and that could well be the last time that we see Virat Kohli on Australian soil and in Test match cricket," Waugh said while speaking on Fox Cricket.
As Kohli exited the Sydney Cricket Ground, a venue where he made a brilliant 147 a decade back, for the last time with bat in hand, he waved it in disappointment.
After stumps, Aussie coach Andrew McDonald was asked about the method used to bring about Kohli's downfall through the series.
“It’s never easy to get Virat out. I’d give full credit to the bowlers and the execution of the plan. It’s one thing to have a plan, but then to be able to execute that the way that we have to Virat put him under immense pressure," McDonald said.
