India are currently level 1-1 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy after securing a thrilling draw in the third Test at Brisbane. They would now look to take a lead in the series when they take on Australia in the fourth Test, which will be a traditional Boxing Day affair at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26. KL Rahul has been in top form throughout the series. However, just five days before the start of the crucial fourth Test, he might have suffered an injury scare.
In a video that has gone viral all over social media, Team India physios can be seen nursing KL Rahul's right hand during a practice session before the 4th Test. He is seen holding the bat with his other hand, in full batting gear. This would mean that he was struck by a ball during net practice a few moments earlier. However, Rahul did not seem to be in too much discomfort. There have also been no signs which state that he could miss the 4th Test.

KL Rahul Shines In Opening Spot

KL Rahul opened the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first Test in the absence of Rohit Sharma. In the first Test, he scored a gritty 26 in the first innings followed by a 77 in the second innings. His performance earned him a permanent place as an opener, as Rphit Sharma dropped to no.6 in the batting order on his return.
In the second Test, he scored 37 and 7 respectively in both innings. In the third Test, he was one of the best performers slamming 84 in the first innings, and playing an important part in India avoiding the follow-on.
Rahul is India's highest run-scorer in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 235 runs. He is also the second-highest run scorer of the series behind Australia's Travis Head.
