Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history and etched his name in record books when he took the field for Bihar in their first game of the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Madhya Pradesh on Saturday (December 21). Vaibhav has been on a record-breaking spree since his domestic cricket debut and he now owns another record in Indian cricket.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is now the youngest Indian player to play List A cricket. Vaibhav, who is 13 years and 269 days old, broke Ali Akbar's record. He made his List A debut aged 14 years and 51 days in the 1999/2000 season. Vaibhav is the youngest Indian to play in the Ranji Trophy, List A cricket and represent India at the U19 level.

Vaibhav created history at the IPL 2025 mega-auction when he joined Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore. He became the youngest player to draw a bid in an IPL auction. Should he make his IPL debut next year, he will become the youngest debutant in the tournament's history.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi departs early on debut
The left-handed batsman did not have a memorable outing in his maiden List A game as he departed for 4. Vaibhav opened his account with a boundary on the very first ball he faced. He got caught on the very next delivery. Bihar managed a total of 196 on the board in 46.4 overs.
Madhya Pradesh, who reached the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scaled the chase in only 25.1 overs. Opener Harsh Gawli shone with the bat and slammed a brilliant 83 off 63 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar scored a quick 55 off 33 balls in the chase.
Bihar will take on Tripura in their next league stage game on Monday (December 23). MP will take on Ishant Sharma-starrer Delhi in their next game.
