Babar Azam returned to form with a solid 73 in the second ODI against South Africa. Babar has been going through a lean run for a while but the runs in the second match would do him a world of good ahead of the Test series.
Meanwhile, the innings took Babar Azam's tally of ODI runs to 5905, putting him on the cusp of a massive feat. Babar now is just 95 runs away from reaching the 6000 run mark in ODI cricket. If the former Pakistan skipper manages to score 95 runs in the 3rd ODI against South Africa, he will become the fastest batter in the world to reach 6000 ODI runs. The record is currently held by Hashim Amla who reached the landmark in 123 innings while Babar has played 119 innings so far. He has three innings to shatter Amla's record. Virat Kohli is second on the list with 6000 ODI runs in 136 innings.

Meanwhile, Babar is also one hundred away from joining Saeed Anwar in the list of most ODI hundreds by a Pakistan batter. Babar needs to score the hundred in the next 15 innings to become the second fastest to 20 ODI hundreds.
