PCB Refused BCCI's Financial Help Offer To Uphold National Dignity Amidst Champions Trophy Stand-Off: Report (Source: AP)

The BCCI and PCB reportedly have reached a middle ground on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The showpiece event suffered a major setback when BCCI refused to send team India to Pakistan. The PCB also adopted a strong stance and said they will host the full tournament in Pakistan, refusing BCCI's request for the hybrid model.
After months of negotiations, the PCB agreed to play the tournament in a hybrid model but set a few key conditions. The PCB proposed a partnership formula where Pakistan will also play their matches outside India in ICC tournaments hosted by the arch-rivals. Notably, India will host the T20 World Cup 2026 along with Sri Lanka and if the deal is signed, Pakistan won't play their matches in India, but in Sri Lanka.
According to a report in the Express Tribune, the BCCI offered PCB financial aid to compensate for the loss the board suffered due to the BCCI's refusal to play in Pakistan, but the PCB rejected it to uphold national dignity and stayed adamant about the tit-for-tat model. The report also revealed that Pakistan will be awarded the hosting rights of a Women's ICC event in 2028.
The BCCI-PCB deadlock resulted in the delay in the Champions Trophy schedule, however, as per the report, it could be out in the next two days. The report added that the three-year deal between the BCCI and PCB over the partnership formula might not be announced with the schedule, but will be confirmed in the future.
The ICC has approved the hybrid model for the showpiece event. The tournament is set to get underway on February 19, with the final on March 9. 10 matches of the tournament will be played in Pakistan, while India will play all their matches in Dubai, including the big clash against Pakistan. If India reach the semifinal, the knockouts will be played in Dubai itself, or else in Pakistan.
