Sam Kontas, Scott Boland IN, 2 Players OUT; Will Travis Head Play? Australia's Likely XI for 4th Test vs India (Source: AP)

Australia would be disappointed they couldn't take a lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The hosts dominated India in the 3rd Test at the GABBA, but rain took significant time out of the game as the match ended as a draw. The teams will now head to Melbourne with the series tied at 1-1.
Despite a dominant show in Adelaide and GABBA, Australia can't and shouldn't take things for granted. The Indian team has struggled in the last two Tests, but they are very capable of making a comeback. Moreso, Australia have a few injury concerns ahead of the 4th Test. Ace pacer Josh Hazlewood is all set to miss the Melbourne Test due to injury. Australia have Scott Bolanad, Brendan Doggett and Beu Webster in the squad, but Boland, having played before in the series, is likely to get a nod.
There are a few injury concerns for Travis Head as well who reportedly suffered a groin injury. Australia captain Pat Cummins though is optimistic that Head will be fine before the 4th test that gets underway on December 26. Head has been a thorn in the flesh for the visitors and scored hundreds in Adelaide and Brisbane.
Nathan McSweeney hasn't grabbed his opportunity so far in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and time might be running out of him. Sam Kontas, on the other hand, strengthened his case with decent performances in the ongoing BBL. Australia could thus opt for Kontas in the 4th Test.
The upcoming match is a must-win for both teams. A defeat for either of the teams could jeopardize their chances of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final.
Australia's likely XI for 4th Test: Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey, Scott Boland, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon
