Smriti Mandhana continued her form in the series against West Indies and scored a half-century in the 2nd T20I. Mandhana, who captained the home team in Harmanpreet Kaur's absence, scored 62 off 41 balls as India registered a total of 159/9 on the board. Richa Ghosh played a vital 32-run knock.
Mandha created history and etched her name in history books during her knock. The India vice-captain now holds the record for scoring most half-centuries in women's T20Is. She has 29 half-centuries.
The record was previously held by Suzie Bates, who has 28 half-centuries. Overall, Bates has breached the 50-run mark 29 times but she also has a century to her name. She has 28 half-centuries and one century in the shortest format.

Mandhana has yet to breach the three-figure mark in T20Is and she has hit 29 fifties. Following Mandhana and Bates on the list is Australia's Beth Mooney. She has 23 half-centuries and two centuries. Sarah Taylor and Sophie Devine sit next with 22 and 21 half-centuries each, respectively. Devine has slammed one century.
India lose 2nd T20I by 9 wickets
Mandhana's half-century wasn't enough for India as they lost the 2nd T20I by a big nine-wicket margin. Hayley Mathews remained unbeaten on 85 off 47 balls as WI scaled the chase of 160 in just 15.4 overs with nine wickets in hand.
The Indian bowlers struggled in the second innings and every bowler had an economy rate of more than 6. The three-match T20I series between the two teams is now levelled 1-1. The series decider will be played on Thursday (December 19) in Mumbai.
Following the T20I series, the two teams will lock horns in a three-match ODI series. All three ODIs will be played at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara. The third fixture will be a day game.
