Best In 100 Years! Jasprit Bumrah Pips Cricket Greats Hadlee, Ambrose, Holding In GOAT List With GABBA Heroics (Source: AP)

What would India do without a Jasprit Bumrah? It's hard to imagine given the impact he makes day in and day out for the team. Bumrah was the lone shining spot for India in the third Test as he bagged six wickets for 76 runs to help India claw back into the game. Bumrah touched the 50 wicket mark on Australian soil and became only the second Indian after Kapil Dev to take 50 Test wickets in Australia.

Bumrah- The Best Visiting Bowler In Australia In 100 Years

Stats prove that Jasprit Bumrah is the best-visiting bowler in Australia in over 100 years. His 50 wickets in the country have come at an average of 17.82, which is the best among all bowlers who have taken 20 or more wickets in the country since the start of the 20th century, better than the likes of Richard Hadlee (whose 77 scalps came at a marginally higher rate of 17.83 runs per wicket), Curtly Ambrose (78 wickets at 19.79 in Australia) and Michael Holding (63 at 24.22).

Bumrah On Cusp Of Big Milestones

Jasprit Bumrah is all set to go past Kapil Dev's mark of 51 wickets in Australia to become the highest wicket-taker for India in the country. He could also break the record of Harbhajan Singh for most wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Harbhajan took 32 wickets in the 2001 series and Bumrah already has 18 wickets in two and a half matches. He needs another 15 wickets in five innings to top the table. Bumrah is also the joint leading wicket-taker in the current WTC cycle along with R Ashwin, with 63 wickets, and he should be able to settle at the helm soon since Ashwin is unlikely to play the following Test in Melbourne.
Meanwhile, India are in trouble in the third Test, reeling at 51-4 at Stump on Day 3, in reply to Australia's first-inning score of 445.
