India are currently taking on Australia in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 at the iconic Gabba Cricket Ground in Brisbane. Steve Smith, who is arguably one of th greatest Australian batters of all time, had not performed up to expectations in the series so far. However, he roared back into form in the third Test as he took the Indian bowlers for a toss. The legendary right-hander batter smashed a century, the 33rd in his Test career. With this he achieve a remarkable feat.
Steve Smith Creates History In Third Test
Steve Smith smashed 101 from 190 balls in the third Test against India in what was a masterclass in red-ball batting. This was his 10th century against India in Test Cricket in his 41st innings against the opposition. Smith now becomes the first batter in history to slam 10 centuries against India in under 50 innings.
Steve Smith is the player with the joint-most number of tons in the longest format of the game against India. Joe Root also has scored 10 hundreds against India in Tests in 55 innings.

Bumrah Gets India Back To Game After Smith, Head Centuries
Day 1 of the Test match was washed out after just 80 balls were bowled, with rain setting in at Brisbane. On Day 2, India began on a strong note, as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed both openers Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja early. Marnus Labuscghagne then gave his wicket away to Nitish Reddy.
After that, it was the Travis Head and Steve Smith show as the duo slammed twin centuries. However, Bumrah came back to the party as he scalped three quick wickets of Head, Smith and Mitchell Marsh, to register his second five-wicket haul in the series.
