Virat Kohli might not be having a good time with the bat, but he seems to have upped his fielding skills in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. The 36 year old has been a constant presence in the slips and his fielding skills have often been overshadowed by his batting performances.
Virat took a spectacular catch to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne in the third Test at Gabba and in the proceedings, he has now registered 70 catches, the most by any player against Australia across the three formats.
Virat is also 4th on the list of most catches taken against a single opposition with Steve Smith leading the table. The 35 year old has grabbed 76 catches against England and Virat is closing in on pretty fast.
Mahela Jayawardene is in the second position with 72 catches against England while Allan Border has 71 catches.
Coming into the match, Jasprit Bumrah continued his dominance as he removed both openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney while Nitish Reddy got the better of the dangerous Marnus Labuschagne.
India made two changes in the third Test as Ravindra Jadeja and Akash Deep came into the starting XI with Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana making way for them. The five match Test series is evenly poised and both India and Australia will look to stamp their authority in a bid to secure their place in the World Test Championship.
Australia are reigning WTC champion as they defeated India in the final last time out. India's fate hangs in the balance and Rohit Sharma's team will have to win the remaining Test matches to keep their hopes alive.
