The 2025 Women's Premier League (WPL) Auction will take place on Sunday (December 15) at the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru, with the bidding wars scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM IST. Mallika Sagar is set to return as the auctioneer for the third year in a row, having also spearheaded the last two Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions.
A total of 124 players will go under the hammer in the 2025 WPL Auction, which includes a total of 95 Indians and 29 overseas players (3 associate nation players). Among the Indians, there are 10 capped stars and 85 uncapped players. Further, there are a total of 21 overseas players who are capped for their respective countries and eight who are yet to play international cricket.
Sneh Rana is the most high-profile Indian player who will go under the hammer, while West Indian cricket legend Deandra Dottin and England's Heather Knight are expected to generate significant interest.

WPL 2025 Auction - Purse And Slot Left

Only a maximum of 19 players will be sold in the auction with no more than five overseas players. Gujarat Giants have the biggest purse and are the only franchise, who have two overseas slots remaining. Meanwhile, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru can buy only Indian players. Two-times finalist Delhi Capitals have the lowest purse in the room

This is likely to be the last mini-auction of the cycle as a mega auction with a total revamp of squads is expected next year. However, there is no confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with more information expected after the third season. The 2025 WPL is likely to be played in February-March.
