Just 24 hours after sealing a 2-0 Test series victory over Sri Lanka and putting one foot in the 2024-25 World Test Championship (WTC) final, South Africa is back in action on Tuesday (December 10) at the Kingsmead Stadium in Durban, where they are playing Pakistan in the first of three T20I matches.
The Proteas are playing with a new-look squad as Heinrich Klaasen is leading his country for the first time in regular skipper Aiden Markram's absence. The likes of Tristan Stubbs, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, and Marco Jansen are also missing from the series.

Why Are South Africa Without Their Star Players vs Paksistan

South Africa rested all their players, who played the Test series against Sri Lanka, which ended only yesterday. All players will return for the three-match ODI series from December 17 to 22. The two teams will also play two Test matches from December 26 to January 3 in Centurion and Cape Town, respectively. The red-ball assignment holds vital importance as it is the last WTC assignment of the ongoing cycle for South Africa, and the hosts will seal their place in the summit clash for the first time in history if they win one match.
