Australian players showed a stupendous all-round masterclass to tame India to level the series. Following the crushing defeat in Perth, Australia needed to bounce back in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
The third Test promises to be an exciting encounter as both sides will now put their best efforts to nullify each other's advantages at the Gabba in Brisbane. Marnus Labuschagne played a pivotal role in Adelaide as Australia put up a healthy 337 runs on the board in reply to India's 180.
The 30 year old had a torrid run of form hitting just five runs in Perth which led to the monumental defeat. He rolled back the years with a classic 64 runs in the Adelaide Oval as Australia
Labuschagne hasn't had a Test ton since the Ashes last year and showed glimpses of promises in Adelaide which will be a massive boost for both him and his team. But David Warner insisted he is not convinced with Labuschagne's form.
In an interaction with the Daily Telegraph the former Australian Test batter insisted the player has the knack of getting out in the same way every time he crosses 50.
"I'm still not convinced with Marnus.
"I don't think that was anywhere near what we know he's capable of.
"He might have got a couple out of the middle, got a couple of freebies, batted well that night to get through but they bowled poorly.
"So from that perspective, he had the best conditions to come out and bat in.
"But he got out the same way he always does get out when he gets over 50, hits it straight to gully.
"So there's a lack of awareness there of what he's got to be mindful of. I don't think he's anywhere near where he should be."
