Travis Head, Mohammed Siraj Share A Warm Hug A Day After Ugly Fight In Adelaide Test (Source: X)
Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj grabbed eyeballs after they were involved in a heated exchange during Day 2 of the second Test at Adelaide Oval. Head was at his brutal best and smashed a brilliant 140 to put Australia on the top. It took a special delivery from Mohammed Siraj to get rid of Head after which tempers flared between the players as they shared a verbal spat.
Both players came out with different versions of the story. Head said that he praised Siraj for the delivery but the Indian pacer misunderstood it. The Aussie batter said he was disappointed with how Siraj reacted and made a controversy out of nothing.
“I said well bowled but he thought otherwise. When he pointed me towards the shed, he got a little bite back from me. Yeah, slightly disappointed with the way that transpired, with a couple of past innings but it is what it is. If they want to react like that, if that's how they want to represent themselves then so be it,” Head told Fox Cricket after Stumps on Day 2.
After Head's remarks, Siraj came out with his own version of the story and accused Head of lying in the media. Siraj said Head abused him after getting dismissed and then lied in the media. He said Indian team always respects its opposition
“My blood was boiling because he had hit me for a four and a six. He abused me when I dismissed him and then he lied in the press conference. He didn’t praise me but was abusive. His statement was not right as we don’t disrespect anyone infact we respect our opponents. My reaction to his dismissal was because of the words he used,” Mohammed Siraj said to Harbhajan Singh.
