Punjab batsman Abhishek Sharma was a his brutal best as he slammed the joint-fastest T20 hundred for India. Playing against Meghalaya, Abhishek smoked a hundred off his 28 balls, equalling Gujarat's Urvil Patel, who scored a 28-ball hundred against Tripura in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).
Abhishek and Urvil are only second to Sahil Chauhan of Estonia who scored a 27-ball hundred against Cyprus earlier this year. Abhishek has established a reputation as a great striker of a cricket ball. He was brilliant for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024 which also paved the way for his India debut. Meanwhile, this was Abhishek Sharma's fourth hundred in SMAT, the most by any player in history.
