Good News For KKR! Defending Champions Get HUGE Harshit Rana Boost Ahead Of IPL Retention Deadline

Harshit Rana will have to wait for his India debut as the fast bowler has been ruled out from the third and last T20I against Bangladesh. But this turns out to be a massive boost for KKR ahead of the IPL retention deadline.
BCCI provided an update that the Kolkata Knight Riders pacer is suffering from a viral infection and hence he was not included in the starting eleven. An official statement read, "Mr. Harshit Rana was unavailable for selection for the third T20I due to a viral infection and did not travel with the team to the stadium."
But Harshit Rana’s unavailability has handed a massive boost to KKR as the IPL champions can now retain the 22 year old for a mere 4 crore. Had he gone on to make his debut for India in the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh, the defending champions would have had to shell out a much higher figure which would have affected their coffers. Harshit played a crucial role as he claimed 19 wickets helping Shreyas Iyer’s side to lift the coveted IPL trophy for the third time earlier this year.
KKR are expected to retain Harshit and they will now have to pay just four crore to the fast bowler who is yet to make his India debut. Harshit hasn't been considered in the red ball cricket so far while the next white ball format is also scheduled to be played against South Africa in November.
