A total of 182 players were sold as the 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises spent a whopping Rs. 639.15 crore in the 2025 mega auction, which took place in Jeddah on November 24 and 25 with a major overhaul in the squads ahead of the 18th edition.
Towards the end of the auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) decided to re-sign Jaydev Unadkat for his base price of Rs. 1 crore with no other team engaging in a bidding war for him. Last year, the veteran Indian pacer was signed by the Hyderabad-based franchise for Rs. 1.6 crore. Unadkat played 11 matches in SRH's run to the final and took eight wickets at an economy of 10.28.
Jaydev Unadkat Creates History
Unadkat extended a massive record as he was sold for the 13th time in an IPL auction in history and became the first player to achieve the feat. In fact, no other player has been sold more than 10 times. The most another player has found a successful bid in an auction is seven times.
Since first going under the hammer in 2011, Unadkat has been part of the auction in every year apart from 2012 and 2021. He has never gone unsold and earned a whopping salary of Rs. 11.50 crore in 2018. He has played for eight franchises in the league, which is the record for the most teams an Indian player has featured for in IPL history.
