Kiwi Lydia Ko has wrapped up her 2024 LPGA campaign with a fast-finishing third in the Tour Championship at Naples, Florida.

Thai Jeeno Thitikul captured the US$4 million winner's purse with a one-stroke victory over American Angel Yin, shooting 22 under par for the tournament and finishing eagle-birdie for 65 on the closing round.

Four days after her admittance to the LPGA Hall of Fame, Ko carded the lowest score of the fourth day — a nine-under 63 that included nine birdies and no dropped shots — improving from 12th overnight to finish five strokes behind Thitikul.

The Paris Olympic champion will look back regretfully on a two-over 74 on the second round, which saw her slip back through the field. The two-time champion earned US$550,000 for her effort, as she headed home China's Ruoning Yin by a stroke, and South Korean Narin An and American world No.1 Nelly Korda by two.

"I stayed really patient out there," said Ko. "I [parred] the first four holes, and those are the ones you have to take a step back and be OK with making pars.

"I got my first birdie on five and then was able to make another string of birdies to finish my front nine. Overall, I played really solid to give myself a lot of good looks for birdies.
