The first game of the series will be played in Chennai while the second fixture will be played in Kanpur, from September 27 to October 1. Bangladesh legend Mushfiqur Rahim is close to Sachin's tally and can overtake him. The right-handed batsman has scored 604 runs in 8 Tests against India. He has played 15 innings. Mushfiqur is 217 runs away from leapfrogging Sachin. Sachin hit five centuries while Mushfiqur has 2 tons.
Rahul Dravid sits at the third spot. The ICC Hall of Famer scored 560 runs in five matches against the neighbouring nation. Dravid has 3 centuries against Bangladesh.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli sit at the next two sports, respectively. Pujara has 468 runs in five matches while Virat has 437 runs in six games. Virat is part of the Bangladesh series and can breach the 500-run mark against them. Pujara isn't part of Team India now.
Virat Kohli returns
Virat Kohli has made his return to the Test team for the Bangladesh series. The former India captain missed the complete England series due to personal reasons. He has only played one Test in 2024.
KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are also back in the Test squad. Rahul only played one Test against England while Rishabh is back in the Test team for the first time since 2022. His previous Test appearance came against Bangladesh.
