For the second consecutive year, the IPL auction will take place outside of India and Jeddah will host the mega-auction on November 24 and 25. The mega-auction will kick off after the end of the third and fourth day's play of the Perth Test match between India and Australia. The coverage will start at 2:00 PM IST while the bidding will kick off at 3 PM on both days.
The IPL 2025 mega-auction is set to be the biggest one in history as IPL-winning captain Shreyas Iyer will be up for grabs along with the likes of Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler and many other star players.

The IPL 2025 mega-auction will have a live telecast on the Star Sports channel. The auction will be streamed live on the JioCinema app.

List of players
A total of 574 players have been shortlisted for the mega-auction. Out of these, 366 are Indian players while 208 overseas players are part of the list. Jofra Archer missed out on getting shortlisted. Cricbuzz has reported that he was unavailable for IPL 2025. The teams can fill 204 slots. A maximum of 70 overseas players can be bought in the auction.
James Anderson, aged 42, is the oldest player in the pruned list. Should he get a bid and make his debut in IPL 2025, Anderson will become the oldest debutant in the league's history. 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the youngest player in the list.
