KEY HIGHLIGHTS
  • India will host Bangladesh in 3rd T20I on October 12
  • India have already clinched the series 2-0
  • India could give benched players a chance in 3rd T20I
With an aim to whitewash Bangladesh, India will host the visiting team in the third and final T20I of the series in Hyderabad. The last game of the series will be played on Saturday (October 12). India won the first 2 games by comfortable margins and they are favourites going into the third game. Sanju Samson's below-par form has been one of the biggest talking points.
The wicketkeeper-batsman got a start in the series opener and departed for 29. He managed a score of 10 in the second T20I. Will the team management drop Sanju Samson or will he get another chance? Here, we have a look at India's likely playing XI for 3rd T20I against Bangladesh -
Openers
Sanju Samson could be given another opportunity and he is unlikely to get dropped from the playing XI. The wicketkeeper-batsman could lose his spot after the Bangladesh series and the team management might give him one more chance. Should Samson score big, he will retain his spot for the South Africa tour. If he fails again, then Ishan Kishan could regain his spot in the T20I team. There are no doubts over Abhishek Sharma's place in the playing XI.
Middle-order
Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh will form India's middle order. Rinku is more of a finisher and does a perfect job while finishing the games. He scored a brilliant half-century in the 2nd T20I.
All-rounders
There could be one change in the playing XI and Washington Sundar could be rested. He might get replaced by Tilak Verma, who has been on the bench so far. No other change is expected and the rest of the all-rounders look set to retain their spots. Nitish Reddy, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag could be the other three all-rounders in the playing XI.
Bowlers
India could finally hand a debut to Harshit Rana and he might replace Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep could get rested for the last game. Mayank Yadav has only played 2 T20Is so far and he might not be rested. Varun Chakaravarthy isn't expected to be rested, which means no place for Ravi Bishnoi once again.
